War of Dusk

An RPG that lives on top of your taskbar. Your heroes hunt on their own while you work; you make the refine call, with the real odds on screen — and the item never breaks.

About the game

War of Dusk is a pixel-art idle RPG that runs on a low, always-visible strip right above the Windows taskbar. There, heroes walk, fight and loot without asking for attention; the Forge, Character, Map, Skills and Codex windows only open when the player wants to decide something.

Inspired by the fantasy MMORPGs of the 2000s, like the classic WYD, the game brings four classes with three lineages each, 144 skills, ten mounts (three of them fly), four cities and eighteen regions up to level 400, each with its own boss, quests, the Water Scroll and arena duels.

Its heart is refining: the chance of every attempt is on screen, there's a guarantee after failures and the item never breaks. No account, no own server, no telemetry and no microtransactions — progress stays on the player's computer.

AI use

Some of the art and music was created with generative AI tools during development and then reviewed, curated and edited by the developer. All of this content is pre-generated and fixed; the game does not generate any content with AI while it runs. Code, systems, balancing, text and sound effects were made by the developer.
